Bus Permits
Buses in Ocean
City are required to display a bus permit when entering city
limits between May 15 and September 10. Bus permits can be
obtained through the Ocean City Department of Transportation.
Parking arrangements must be made prior to submitting your
request for a parking permit. Parking permits are issued for
either private property or for the municipal parking lot.
Private
Property Parking Permits
Privatly owned
business establishments, including hotels, motels, restaurants
and shopping malls, will usually allow you to park on their
premises if you are patronizing their establishmenrs during
your trip.
After making all
parking arrangements, complete and submit the charter bus
application to the Department of Transportation.
Upon receipt of
your application, the parking permit will be issued. This
does not require a fee.
Convention
Center Parking Permits
The Convention
Center parking lot, located at 4001 Coastal Highway, is a
municipal parking area available for buses.
Contact the Department
of Transportation at least 14 days prior to your trip in order
to confirm that space is available.
After reserving
your space, mail your application and check for $100 made
payable to the Town of Ocean City.
Upon receipt of
your application and payment, the parking permit will be issued.
Convention
Center Parking Rules
Motors must be
turned off after parking on the lot.
All buses must vacate the parking area by 7pm. Overnight parking
is not permitted.
Bus companies will be responsible for any debris left behind
by their passengers.
Resort information is available in the Visitors Center located
in the Convention Center.
General
Rules & Regulations
The parking or
standing of buses on the public ways or streets is prohibited
at all times from May 15 to September 10.
Buses are allowed
limited time to board and discharge passengers at the Transit
Center, located on South Division Street between Baltimore
Avenue and Philadelphia Avenue. Please- no parking at the
Transit Center, other than to board or discharge passengers.
No refunds
will be made for any scheduled trip unless the Department
of Transportation is notified within 48 hours of arrival date
in writing. The cancelled permit must accompany the letter.
